Hello! I’m Coach Carrie, the founder of Sea Creature Swim, where I passionately teach children the invaluable skill of swimming. Although I didn’t grow up on a competitive swim team, my love for the water began at a young age in the community pool of my southern California neighborhood. As an outdoor kid, I spent countless sunny days splashing around with friends, honing my water skills, and embracing the freedom that comes from being in the pool.

 I attended Humboldt State University and obtained a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, this is where I developed a strong foundation in understanding the natural world. Alongside my major, I pursued three minors in scuba diving, culminating in my Dive Master Certificate. These experiences allowed me to further deepen my love and appreciation for aquatic environments.

 My passion for the water not only fuels my commitment to teaching swimming but also inspires my dedication to promoting water safety and environmental conservation through my lessons. I believe that fostering a love for swimming and an understanding of our oceans can empower individuals to enjoy and protect our invaluable water resources.

 My journey into the world of swimming instruction began when I sought formal employment at the premier swimming school in Southern California in 2017. There, I mastered the techniques of swimming. I also discovered my passion for teaching others the joy of learning how to swim.

 In 2021, I graduated from the University of Southern California with a master’s degree in Teaching and Special Education. During my credential program, I had the opportunity to experience various educational environments. While I valued my time in the classroom, I discovered that my heart really lies in the water.

 There’s something truly magical about teaching swimming - watching children gain confidence, master new skills and develop a love for the water brings me more joy than I ever anticipated. Being in the pool allows me to combine my love for teaching with my passion for swimming, and I thrive in this environment! All these wonderful experiences led me to establish my own swimming lesson business, where I can share my enthusiasm for the water and empower children with the skills they need to swim confidently and safely.

 At Sea Creature Swim, I believe that every child deserves the opportunity to experience the joy of swimming. My goal is to create a fun, supportive, and nurturing environment where children can learn at their own pace while developing a lifelong love for the water.
